Bailey Nurseries Adds Digital Help

Bailey Nurseries Adds Digital Help

Here is a brief update on some of what our three consumers brands are up to from a digital perspective recently! These contain some great tools the retailer can use when developing customer interaction and providing educational content.

Endless Summer® Hydrangeas

  • Text Campaign – The plants that text you back! Now in its second year, consumers can text ‘Endless Summer’ to 73095 for timely care reminders in English, or text ‘Verano’ for reminders in Spanish. The code is included on the back of each tag, as well as available on the Endless Summer consumer website and included in some digital and print advertisements. The care tips can be customized by selecting what region the consumer lives in, and tips are delivered about once a month.
  • Site takeovers – Weather.com’s mobile site feature an Endless Summer™ skin, changing colors throughout the season and depending on the local weather. The takeovers have begun and run through mid-June in select markets.
  • Social Media - #LifeinFullBloom and #MomHelpedMeBloom are just two of the hashtags being utilized on Facebook and Instagram to interact with consumers. Both campaigns are currently featuring a sweepstakes; when users upload a photo, and use the hashtag they are entered to win a $50 Visa gift card.
  • Inspiration – Consumers can now download wallpapers to their desktop and mobile devices for garden décor wherever they go! They can be found on the Endless Summer® consumer website here.

  • Text Campaign – Not to be left out, consumers can now also get care tips by texting ‘Easy Elegance’ to 73095 too!
  • Design Advice –Now available on the Easy Elegance consumer website are a variety of beautiful watercolor style designs featuring the collection to inspire consumers. You can find the designs here.
  • New Logo and tags – an updated logo, brand mark, tagline and tags are helping to change consumer’s perception of roses from a plant they love but are intimidated by, to one that is easy to grow and care for.

First Editions®

  • #LetsAskAmy – Consumers using either Instagram, Facebook, or on the First Editions consumer website (using an online form), can now use the hashtag to pose all their gardening questions to Amy. Amy is a fictional spokeswoman that represents an average homeowner who is self-taught through a variety of home landscaping projects. Amy is backed by real garden experts who post the answers on the First Editions® website as well as back onto the initial platform within 24 hours. She was developed in response to a recent Bailey survey found that 50% of gardeners turn to friends, family and neighbors for yard advice, and the other 50% turn to home improvement sites, YouTube and blogs. Amy is basically all of those sources rolled into one amiable avatar.
